On 15 July, Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, met with Maria Papakonstantinou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meeting addressed the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, as well as potential prospects for further collaboration.
The sides exchanged views on the importance of improving transport accessibility in order to increase the dynamics of mutual tourist flows. It was also noted that charter flights from Baku to the Greek island of Crete are currently being operated successfully, and that the resumption of direct and regular flights between the two countries in the future would contribute to the expansion of tourism ties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of strengthening bilateral promotional and marketing activities to mutually promote the tourism potential of Azerbaijan and Greece was emphasized.
